Overstreet on Wall-E

December 10, 2008

Jeffrey Overstreet has been banging the Wall-E drum for so long that I finally gave in and convinced my wife to watch it with me. She wasn’t convinced for the first 10-15 minutes, but by the end, we could both see what all the hype was about. Still not convinced? Read these glowing reviews or watch this:

I loved it because it is a simple, beautiful well told story. I’m a big dialogue guy, but not much dialogue is even needed because it is basically a universal story that reflects the longings God has placed in our hearts. The longings for love and ultimate meaning and beauty and community. Who hasn’t spent a little too much time on the computer or on the cell phone or in front of the TV and felt like they just needed some human interaction. Who hasn’t looked up at the stars and wondered, “what is the meaning of it all.” So if you have an animation aversion, get over it and check this one out.
