Feel free to criticize Christianity…

March 25, 2009

Feel free, I’m confident enough in Christ and the truth of the message of the gospel to allow anyone to openly criticize my beliefs. If 57 Islamic countries have their way I won’t be able to express my view that Islam is a false religion that oppresses freedom and leads people to hell on earth (through terrorism and military action) and to eternal hell apart from God.

“Islam is a false religion that oppresses freedom and leads people to hell on earth (through terrorism and military action) and to eternal hell apart from God.”

bit far-fetched a statement don’t you think. need i remind you of the KKK? IRA? every religion will have its sects of extremism. while i have no qualms with Christians, i think its a bit harsh to categorize a religion as oppressive given the limited and often exaggerated view of a religion.

No, I don’t think it’s far fetched at all. There have been people who killed and did violence in the name of Christianity…but not because of any actual teaching of Jesus. We believe that people are sinful, so it’s no surprise that people have used the banner of “Christianity” in the past to do violence, but they do it against the teachings of Jesus.

There are also some Muslims who do not condone violence and oppression, but they are going against the actual teachings of the Koran, which are more consistent with terrorism, Jihad and oppression.

As someone who actually believes the Bible, I would be stupid not to think Islam was a false and evil religion because I believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. I also have no problem with a Muslim saying the same about Christianity. What I do have a problem with is the government or the U.N. restricting free speech in the name of “tolerance.” Our world thrives on freedom of speech, I hate all attempts to restrict it. If Islam can’t handle a little criticism, what are they afraid of? Answer…the truth.

I believe that you didn’t study your bible well , it’s full of violence and divinely order to do it
If you believe that jesus is the God , so you believe that he is the god who made the old testimony , the book of hate , blood shading and the divine order to kill women , children and old people sometimes animals and plants

But if you believe that Jesus is new god of the new testimony , so you have to know that Jesus give orders to commit violence many times here is some examples

    Luke 19
27But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

    Luke 22
36Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

    Matthew 21
12And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Now i don’t think it’s peaceful acts , it’s violence , it’s spreading to the religion by force

See that! We both get to criticize each others God and religion and we can leave it up to God to decide who is eternally damned. Under the law your people are trying to pass, we wouldn’t be able to have this conversation.

Now as to your points. I said no one who follows the New Testament teachings of Jesus will kill anyone or do violence in His name. I fully believe that Jesus is God of the Old Testament and I fully believe that He will return one day and judge and condemn everyone who dosen’t believe in and follow Him. In that day He will violently destroy all who oppose Him. But unlike your God, he dosen’t need his subjects to blow themselves up to do His dirty work.

As His people we recognize that we are all sinners worthy of condemnation. The only reason we are different from the people he will judge is because He has given us grace and mercy and chosen to forgive us. For this reason our battle is to win souls for Jesus, to tell them of His love and mercy so that they can avoid judgment.

God violently established His people in the Old Testament and was right to do so. He will violently judge God-Haters in the future. But anyone who says they are a Christian and does violence in his name at this time misses the point of the mission of the church, the Great Commandment (love God, love others) and the Great Commission (Make disciples of all nations).

Just because you know three Bible verses to pull out of context dosen’t change that.
